Podcast- "Eating Habits"

One of the most basic and powerful ways to increase student motivation to write and communicate is to change student perceptions of audience. Children need to be taught how to listen, as such; audio podcasts can be used to develop pupils’ listening skills. This podcast was used as an induction activity for a Science lesson on ‘Food Groups’. Pupils were asked to listen attentively to the words, as well, as background sounds.

This strategy will also be excellent for pupil interaction, as they can create classroom podcasts and become attuned to their tone, intonation, speed of delivery, and expression (or lack thereof.) Audio podcasts have less distracting frills than visual multimedia presentations or videos. It can help students focus more on a message’s content and its effective delivery.
